Virtual therapy works much like an in-person session! The only difference is that we meet online instead of in the office. Sessions are held through Jane App’s secure, easy-to-use video platform, so you can connect with your therapist from the comfort and privacy of your own home. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space. 30 Minutes before your session, you’ll receive an email link that takes you directly to your private video appointment — no special downloads required. It’s a convenient, confidential, and flexible way to access support wherever you are!

If you have extended healthy benefits, it is very likely our services are covered! Our services are covered by most insurance plans as long as your plan includes coverage for psychotherapy or psychology. It is your responsibility to check the details of your coverage directly with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage.
Because every plan is different, we recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage details. You can ask:
What is my coverage (psychotherapy service, RSW, psychology services)?
Do I have coverage for sessions with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP)?
How much is covered per session or per year?
Please let us know which coverage you have so we can best support you. We’re happy to provide detailed receipts after each session so you can easily submit them for reimbursement.
-
Yes! We offer direct billing through SunLife.
If you have a different insurance provider, unfortunately, direct billing is not available at this time. We will charge you at the end of your visit and will email you an official receipt that you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

We accept all major credit cards.

We understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes appointments need to be changed. We ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. This allows us to offer the time to another client who may be waiting for an appointment.
If notice is given less than 48 hours before your session, or if you miss your appointment without notice, the full session fee will be charged. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This policy helps ensure fairness and consistency for all clients.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. In the beginning, we typically recommend weekly sessions. Meeting regularly helps build momentum, deepen understanding, and create a sense of consistency as we begin the therapeutic process. Once things start to feel more manageable and progress is steady, we can gradually space sessions out, for example, moving to bi-weekly, monthly, or as-needed check-ins.
That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. Some people prefer to meet a few times a week for extra support, while others benefit from a slower pace. We’ll work together to find a rhythm that fits your goals, comfort, and schedule. The key is finding what helps you feel supported and continues to move you forward.
-
The first session focuses on understanding your concerns, goals, and what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your history, current challenges, and what you hope to change, and we’ll begin developing a plan that feels supportive and collaborative.

It’s common for one partner to feel ready for counselling while the other isn’t, and that’s okay. You don’t have to wait for your partner to start making positive changes. In these situations, individual therapy can be a powerful first step. Working on your own patterns, communication, and emotional responses can create meaningful shifts in your relationship, even if your partner isn’t in the room.
Whether together or individually, support is available and change can begin with you!

For many couples, yes, couples therapy can be deeply worthwhile, especially when patterns of conflict, disconnection, or uncertainty start to feel overwhelming or repetitive.
Couples therapy isn’t about deciding who is “right” or assigning blame. Instead, it helps partners understand the emotional and communication patterns that keep them stuck and learn how to respond to each other in healthier, more supportive ways. Many couples find that therapy helps them improve communication, rebuild trust, feel emotionally closer, and break cycles of recurring arguments.
Couples therapy can be helpful at many stages of a relationship, whether you’re navigating ongoing conflict, recovering from a rupture such as infidelity, feeling emotionally distant, or wanting to strengthen your relationship before marriage. You don’t need to be in crisis for therapy to be beneficial.
That said, couples therapy tends to be most effective when both partners are willing to show up, reflect, and try new ways of interacting. Progress doesn’t require perfection, just openness and curiosity.
Many couples also find that investing in therapy early can prevent small issues from becoming entrenched patterns over time. When relationships matter, having structured support and guidance can be a meaningful and worthwhile investment in both the relationship and individual well-being.
If you’re unsure whether couples therapy is right for you, a consultation can help determine whether this approach fits your goals and situation.
